About NASSCOM

The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) is India's largest technology trade body, representing over 3,000 member companies in the IT-BPM sector. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, NASSCOM has been a driving force behind India's emergence as a global technology powerhouse. Beyond its industry advocacy role, NASSCOM has invested heavily in nurturing the Indian startup ecosystem through dedicated programs, co-working infrastructure, and policy engagement.

NASSCOM operates as a not-for-profit organization and serves as a bridge between the technology industry, government, and the broader innovation community. Its startup programs have touched over 10,000 ventures since inception.

Role in the Startup Ecosystem

NASSCOM occupies a unique position as both an industry voice and a startup enabler. Through its startup division (formerly branded as 10,000 Startups and now NASSCOM Startups), it acts as a platform connector, bringing together founders, corporates, investors, and government bodies. Its policy advocacy work has influenced key startup regulations around taxation, compliance, and intellectual property. NASSCOM also runs the DeepTech Club, which is India's largest deep-tech startup community.

Programs and Initiatives

The flagship NASSCOM 10,000 Startups program, launched in 2013, provides incubation, mentorship, funding access, and global immersion opportunities. The program has supported over 11,500 startups, funded 650 of them, and facilitated over 5,500 global immersion trips. NASSCOM also operates co-working warehouses that seat 100+ startups. The NASSCOM DeepTech Club connects deep-tech founders with research institutions and corporate partners. Other programs include InnoTrek (global immersion), hackathons, and the annual NASSCOM Product Conclave.

Who Benefits

Tech startup founders across India, especially those building in SaaS, AI/ML, blockchain, cybersecurity, and IoT. The programs are open to startups at all stages, from ideation through growth, and provide particular value through corporate connections and global exposure opportunities.

Strategic Impact

NASSCOM has been instrumental in positioning India as a global startup hub. Its programs have created a structured pathway for tech startups to access mentorship, capital, and markets. The co-working infrastructure and community events have fostered collaboration across cities, while its policy work has helped shape a more founder-friendly regulatory environment in India.
