How to apply to Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology
Choosing the right programme
- Pre-incubation suits teams with an idea and a first hypothesis.
- Incubation suits student and alumni founders with a working prototype.
- Acceleration suits ventures that have finished incubation and are ready to scale.
How applications work
- Applications are rolling, with no fixed cohort window.

About Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology
Sreenidhi Ascend is the entrepreneurship and innovation centre of Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST), a campus in Yamnampet, Ghatkesar, on the edge of Hyderabad. It runs pre-incubation, incubation and acceleration for student, alumni and early-stage founders, and it sits within the Sreenidhi Educational Group.
How programmes work
Ascend runs three stages in sequence. Pre-incubation is a three-month sprint on customer discovery and testing a first hypothesis. Incubation is a twelve-month programme, resident or virtual, with a cubicle, mentors, IP support and milestone reviews. Acceleration is a four-month track on investor readiness, pilots and introductions to industry partners. Applications are rolling rather than tied to fixed cohort windows. Beside these stages the centre runs hackathons such as Agrothon, Rurathon and MSME Thon, an annual flagship festival called ASCEND, and periodic demo days.
Who can apply
Incubation is for student and alumni founders who have a working prototype. Pre-incubation is for early teams with an idea and a first hypothesis. Acceleration is for ventures that have already been through incubation and are ready to scale. The centre says it is sector-agnostic in principle, but works most often in software, edtech, agri and food tech, water and energy conservation, hardware, electric vehicles and healthtech.
Facilities
The centre has a dedicated facility on campus with startup cubicles, co-working desks, a conference room and laboratory space. The labs its site lists are a tinkering lab, a 3D printing lab, an IoT centre of excellence, in-house PCB design and etching, and an SDx lab built with Hexagon Capability Center India.
Mentoring and partners
Mentoring is weekly and drawn from a curated pool of experts in business models, technology, go-to-market work and operations. The centre's ecosystem page names partners including T-Hub, TiE Hyderabad, Hexagon, IKP Knowledge Park, Woxsen University and Reutlingen University in Germany, along with angel and venture investors that take on shortlisted incubatees.
Funding and support
Ascend connects incubatees to central and state schemes and to its own internal funds. Its services page lists mentoring, compliance help, IP and patent filing, lab access, cloud credits, introductions to venture investors, onboarding to national startup platforms and introductions to industry partners. The site says grant support was disbursed to its teams across 2022 to 2025.
Recognition
The centre's site says it was established in 2018 and is registered as a Section 8 company. It says it is recognised by the Ministry of MSME and by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, that the institution's Innovation Council has rated it five-star for four consecutive years, and that the institute entered the NIRF innovation ranking in the 101 to 150 band in 2023. Its patent portfolio is stated as 389 or more patents.
Scale
The centre's pages give different counts for startups incubated and for cubicles, so no single figure is quoted here. The site lists 22 or more DPIIT-registered startups as of 2022 to 2024, and a selection of flagship teams in mobility, hardware and electric vehicles. Those named teams include Go Together Rides, Evyam New Gen Solutions, Petrowatt and Marktech Creations, each listed with its founding year and sector on the centre's startups page.
Who runs it
Abhijit Rao Katikaneni is listed as chief executive of SNIST and as director of the centre. Dr. Shruti Bhargava Choubey is listed as running the centre's programmes and overseeing mentor engagement. Both are named on the centre's leadership page, which says fuller biographies will be published as its public profile grows.
