Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management and Gramothan

Choosing the right route

• The incubation centre is the route for founders who want mentoring, co-working space or prototyping support.
• SKIT students and staff are named as the core audience, and the centre also says it serves aspiring entrepreneurs across Rajasthan.

How applications work

• The pages give a contact point, not an online form. Write to the incubation cell at incubation@skit.ac.in with a short note on the idea, the team and the stage it has reached.
• Ask about the current intake and the terms that apply to your project before you commit time to it.

SKIT, the Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan, is an autonomous institute in Jaipur, Rajasthan, affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. Its incubation centre, SRIJAN, works with entrepreneurs as well as students, and it sits alongside the institute's other innovation cells.

The institute was established in 2000 and offers postgraduate and graduate courses in engineering and management. SRIJAN was established in 2022 to promote innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship on campus. The institute describes its aim as creating a supportive environment for ventures from conception through to growth.

How the incubation centre works

SRIJAN offers mentoring from industry professionals and connections to experienced entrepreneurs. Teams can use co-working space on campus for 12-24 weeks, and the centre lists office resources and prototyping and product development support.

The centre also lists help with intellectual property, financial and legal consultants, connections to funding resources, and business advice from its programme partners.

Who can apply

The centre's vision names students, faculty and staff of the institute, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs across Rajasthan, as the people it serves. The pages do not publish a formal eligibility list, a selection process or a fixed intake calendar, so ask the incubation cell how a particular idea would be taken on.

Facilities

The institute's AICTE IDEA Lab is being set up on campus for prototyping and fabrication. Its page describes the planned equipment as including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines and IoT kits, for students to turn ideas into working prototypes.

Scale

The institute's incubation page gives its own counts of recent activity: 5+ start-up companies exhibited in the last 1 year, 20+ alumni start-ups exhibited in the last 5 years, and 50+ student teams working on ideation, prototype or minimum viable product work in the last 1 year. These are self-reported counts from the institute and are not dated or independently checked.

Recognition

The institute states that it is recognised as a Host Institute under the MSME Innovative Scheme of the Ministry of MSME, and it lists the scheme's incubation component among the funding its work has received.

Locations

The campus is at Ramnagaria, Jagatpura, in Jaipur. The institute's contact page lists the main telephone line and the incubation cell's email address.
