About
Agentic AI Hackathon is a one-day, in-person build competition organised by Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM), Mangaluru, and hosted on Unstop. The challenge is deliberately narrow and technical: build an autonomous AI agent that can plan, use tools, reason, and take actions toward a real-world objective — not just generate responses. Teams pick a single problem track and must deliver a functional agent demonstrating a planning → tool-use → action workflow with minimal human intervention.
Who Should Apply The hackathon is open to college students with a valid college ID. Teams must have 2 to 4 members, and each participant may be part of only one team. A registration fee of ₹400 per team applies.
Tracks / Themes Teams choose one of five problem tracks:
- Claims Triage Agent (Insurance) — automate intake, assessment, and routing of insurance claims.
- Client Intake Agent (Legal & Professional Services) — handle client onboarding and qualification for professional services firms.
- On-Call Incident Agent (Engineering) — support incident detection, triage, and response workflows.
- Shopping Assist Agent (Retail) — guide retail customers through discovery and purchase decisions.
- Portfolio Health Monitor (Wealth & Investing) — track and flag portfolio health signals.
Teams may adapt the chosen scenario using mock or sample data. Real customer or financial data must not be used.
Technology Any agent framework, AI model, programming language, or development platform is permitted — including LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, the OpenAI Agents SDK, the Claude Agent SDK, or fully custom solutions. At least one external tool or API call must be integrated into the agent workflow.
Format & Judging The event takes place on 14 November 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru. Teams present a live demo of 5 minutes followed by 3 minutes of Q&A. Projects are judged on agentic architecture (30%), technical execution (25%), problem fit and impact (20%), innovation (15%), and presentation (10%). Participants are advised to read the official rulebook for complete technical requirements, submission guidelines, track details, judging criteria, rules, and code of conduct.
Prizes The total prize pool is ₹15,000, split between the top two teams: ₹10,000 for 1st place and ₹5,000 for 2nd place. Both winning ranks also receive certificates.
Eligibility Open to college students holding a valid college ID. Teams of 2–4 members; each participant may join only one team.
