The BharatCode Build League is an online hackathon organised by BharatCode for students, developers, AI enthusiasts, aspiring founders, and independent builders. The premise is deliberately open-ended: find a problem worth solving and build a working product that addresses it using the BharatCode model API. Rather than a tightly themed sprint, the league rewards functional, genuinely useful applications over throwaway demos.
Who Should Apply The event is open to college students, software developers, artificial intelligence enthusiasts, aspiring founders, and independent builders. No prior expertise is required — what matters is the ability to identify a problem, develop a solution, and demonstrate what has been built. Participants may enter solo or as part of a small team of up to five members.
Tracks / Themes Participants are free to choose their own problem, but the organisers suggest several areas: education and learning (tools that help students understand concepts, practise questions, or learn at their own pace); research and information (applications for finding information, analysing data, or organising research); productivity and automation (tools that simplify repetitive tasks, manage documents, or streamline everyday work); software development (coding assistants, debugging tools, or developer productivity applications); artificial intelligence agents (agents that use tools, process information, and complete useful tasks); and chatbots and assistants (conversational applications for websites, businesses, or online communities). Any other idea is welcome so long as it demonstrates a useful application of artificial intelligence.
Format & Timeline The league runs online from 25 October 2026 to 8 November 2026. The process is: register (individually or as a team); choose an idea; build the project using the BharatCode model API — a website, application, chatbot, developer tool, or other product; publish the source code to a public GitHub repository containing a file named BharatCode.txt in its root directory; submit the main repository link through the official event page along with the project name and a short description; and finally have the project evaluated. Projects are assessed using community interest and the judges' evaluation, with GitHub stars and votes submitted through the BharatCode website among the factors considered.
Prizes The winner receives ₹10,000 in cash. The winner also gets an opportunity to interview for a paid software development internship offering a stipend of ₹60,000 per month for three months (total stipend ₹1,80,000) — though winning the hackathon does not guarantee the internship, as a separate interview and selection process applies. Additional benefits, subject to applicable terms, include one thousand GC, three complimentary Ginhouse event tickets, an opportunity to showcase projects to the BharatCode team and community, consideration for developing selected projects into official BharatCode offerings, free access to BharatCode for eligible students subject to usage limits, and a discount on Ginclair learning paths.
Eligibility Open to college students, software developers, AI enthusiasts, aspiring founders, and independent builders. Teams may range from 1 to 5 members.
How to Apply Register via the official event page. The application deadline is 10 November 2026 at 11:59 PM IST (the listing also notes a registration deadline of 8 November 2026). Participants should check the official event page for the latest participation rules and submission requirements.
