Escape Room

Escape Room is a team-based digital investigation challenge built around a simulated cybersecurity incident. Participants work together to uncover clues, recover system credentials, investigate digital evidence, identify the individual responsible for the incident, and ultimately restore the compromised system.

The event combines physical and visual puzzles, digital investigation, logical reasoning, and interactive system-recovery challenges to create an immersive cybersecurity escape-room experience.

Who it's for:

• Open to students from all colleges and universities.
• No prior programming, cybersecurity, or technical knowledge is required.
• Teams must consist of exactly 4 members; inter-college and cross-branch teams are allowed.

What to expect:

• A single continuous session of approximately 1 hour 15 minutes per slot, conducted offline at RV University campus.
• Teams progress through three stages:
  • Stage 1 – Credential Recovery: Solve physical and visual puzzles to recover credentials for accessing the simulated system.
  • Stage 2 – Digital Investigation: Analyze digital evidence to identify the individual responsible for the incident.
  • Stage 3 – System Recovery: Complete interactive challenges to restore the compromised system.

Event format:

• Four slots available: 10:00–11:15 AM, 11:30 AM–12:45 PM, 1:00–2:15 PM, 2:30–3:45 PM.
• Maximum 6 teams per slot; total capacity 24 teams.
• Registration is first-come, first-served; participants must select their preferred slot during registration.

Judging criteria:

• Successful completion of stages, accuracy of investigation, correct identification of the responsible individual, successful system recovery, time taken, and penalties for incorrect attempts.
• Full scoring methodology will be briefed on the day of the event.

Prizes:

• Winning team of each slot receives ₹2,000, plus a winner certificate. Total prize pool: ₹8,000.
