Red Team vs Blue Team

Red Team vs Blue Team is an attack-and-defense cybersecurity competition hosted at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), Ramapuram, Chennai. The event places participants inside a realistic, controlled lab environment where they experience both offensive and defensive security operations first-hand.

Format

Teams are randomly assigned to either the Red Team or the Blue Team. The Red Team works to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in designated web applications in order to capture flags, while the Blue Team analyzes logs, detects malicious activity, and reconstructs attack scenarios. Performance is judged on technical execution, analytical thinking, strategy, and teamwork, and is tracked live on a dynamic leaderboard throughout the competition.

Who It's For

The competition is aimed at students and early-career professionals with an interest in cybersecurity and ethical hacking. Participants need only a basic understanding of computers and web applications - no advanced offensive security background is required to take part.

Rules & Regulations

• Team size: 2 to 3 members.
• Attack only the designated event domains within the secure lab environment.
• No external targets or internet scanning.
• No DDoS or brute-force attacks.
• No automated exploitation frameworks.
• Flags must be submitted only through the official event portal.
• No flag sharing between teams.
• Team discussion is allowed only within the assigned team.
• Any form of unethical behavior results in immediate disqualification.
• The organizers' decision is final and binding.
