Robo Soccer is a high-energy robotics football challenge held as part of TechTrix'26, organised by the Navrachna Foundation For Entrepreneurship Development. Teams compete using a custom-built, wirelessly controlled robot to maneuver a ball into the opponent's goal, balancing speed, control, and defensive strategy in a fast-paced knockout tournament.

Who It's For

Undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as eligible participants from colleges and institutions
Teams of 2 participants each; a valid college/institutional ID is mandatory
Only registered participants may compete, and one participant cannot be registered in two teams for the same event

What to Expect

Each team fields only one robot in the arena during a match
Teams must bring their own robot, controller, and spare parts
Every robot undergoes a technical inspection and weigh-in before matches begin
A single-elimination knockout format with byes assigned via random draw

Robot Specifications

Maximum dimensions: 350 × 350 mm (L × W)
Maximum weight: 3 kg, including chassis, kicking mechanism, and batteries
Maximum voltage: 3S LiPo, 12V DC/3s (fully charged); IC engines, pneumatics, and compressors are prohibited
Fully wireless (RF or Bluetooth) manual control; wired tethers and autonomous operation are strictly banned
At least 50% of the ball's surface must remain exposed at all times; trapping, grabbing, suction, or swallowing mechanisms are prohibited

Match Format

Arena: 8 ft × 4 ft, with 60 cm wide goal posts on each side
A standard match consists of 2 rounds of up to 90 seconds each
A round is won by the first team to score; if no goal is scored in 90 seconds, the round is tied
A team wins the match by winning both rounds, or winning one and tying the other
30-second break between rounds, with teams switching sides
If tied after 2 rounds, a 3rd Tie-Breaker Round (max 90 seconds, first goal wins) is played

Judging and Penalties

Penalties are tallied and used as a tie-breaker, covering stalling, goal camping, wall pinning, aggressive ramming, and hand touches
Disqualification applies for exceeding limits, using wired controllers, ball-trapping mechanisms, deliberate damage, unauthorized assistance, cheating, or misconduct
The Event Jury/Referee/Technical Committee holds final authority on all match decisions

Prizes

1st prize: ₹5,000 cash + Trophy + Medal
2nd prize: ₹3,000 cash + Trophy + Medal
Total prize pool: ₹8,000

Registration

Registration fee: ₹300 per team (non-refundable)
Registration deadline: 19 October 2026
Teams must report to the arena at least 30 minutes before the official start time
