This is the route on the centre's site written most clearly for applicants from outside the campus. The Innovation Voucher Programme is a Government of Tamil Nadu scheme run through EDII-TN, and KiC-START says it acts as an authorised knowledge partner, helping applicants validate the idea, build a prototype and reach the state grant. Two voucher types exist, one for idea validation, market research and feasibility work, and one for prototyping, product testing and commercialisation, each with a share the applicant has to put in.

Separately from the Section 8 centre, the college itself is recognised by the Ministry of MSME as a host business incubator. Its page states the recognition was given at the seventh Project Monitoring and Advisory Committee meeting in March 2021, for the scheme supporting entrepreneurial and managerial development of MSMEs through incubators, and that the scheme supports ideas from students and start-ups, with a limited number of projects submitted under it. A counter on the page reports eleven ideas selected so far, undated.
The page's stated objective is to help individual entrepreneurs develop ideas involving innovative, socially useful and environmentally relevant technology, and to give mentoring, finance and marketing support to entrepreneurs with a viable business plan. It also carries a call for the Ministry's Idea Hackathon, open to students, faculty and entrepreneurs aged eighteen to thirty-five.

The only recognition the campus states for itself is the MSME host-institute status. Its funding page explains several central and state schemes, but explaining a scheme is not the same as holding a recognition under it, and no DST, NIDHI or AIM claim appears anywhere on its pages.

The college's own page states that the Ministry of MSME recognised it as a host business incubator for the scheme supporting entrepreneurial and managerial development of MSMEs through incubators, at the seventh Project Monitoring and Advisory Committee meeting in March 2021. It is also listed at entry 667 of the Ministry's published List of Host Institutes for the incubation component of the MSME Innovative Scheme, checked 24 September 2026. Neither source gives a status or an end date, so whether the recognition is current cannot be told from them, and being listed is a capacity registration rather than evidence of an approved idea.
How to apply to KiC-START (Kongunadu Incubation Center and Startup Association)
