About this competition
Logitech DevStudio 2026 is closed. Submissions for the application phase closed on 25 February 2026 at 17:00 (GMT+1), with registration open until 23:59 that day, the semi-final apps were due on 22 April, and the final was held in Lausanne, Switzerland on 10 and 11 June 2026. This guide was checked against the official rules on the Devpost challenge page. No next edition is confirmed; watch Logitech's DevStudio page.
DevStudio 2026 was Logitech's first developer challenge, run on Devpost by Logitech Europe SA from its headquarters at EPFL in Lausanne. Note that the finals were held in person in Switzerland. This guide explains how it worked, so a developer in India can prepare for a possible future edition.
What the challenge offered
The best team in each of two topics won US$10,000 (about ₹9.5 lakh) in cash, from a US$20,000 prize pool. Six finalist teams, three per topic, won a paid two-day trip to Logitech's headquarters to pitch. Fifty shortlisted teams received vouchers for Logitech devices, a month of mentoring from Logitech experts and promotional material. Logitech arranged travel for up to two people per finalist team.
The two topics
- Actions SDK: a plugin for Logitech's interactive devices (such as the MX Creative Console) that boosts productivity or streamlines workflows.
- Stylus in XR (Meta Quest): a mixed-reality app that fully uses the MX Ink stylus and meets the rules for publication on the Meta store.
Who could enter
Individuals at least the age of majority where they live, teams of such individuals, and registered organisations (companies, startups and non-profits) could enter. Residents of, or organisations based in, Brazil, Quebec, Russia, Belarus, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Myanmar and other US-sanctioned places could not, and neither could anyone on US denied-party or sanctions lists. Employees, agents and close family of Logitech, Devpost and the other organisers were also excluded. India was not on the excluded list, so Indian developers and startups could enter. To win a first- or second-place prize, at least one team member had to be able to travel to Lausanne with a valid passport and any visa.
This suits developers who already build for creative or XR tools. It does not suit teams with no hardware or SDK experience, since the semi-final required a working app.
How the challenge ran
- Application phase: register on the Devpost page, accept the official rules, choose a topic, and submit the form, a text description and a public video pitch of about one minute.
- Semi-finals: the 50 shortlisted teams built a working app and submitted a public repository link, an installation link and a pitch video of up to three minutes.
- Final: six teams pitched in Lausanne.
How entries were judged
Logitech shortlisted 50 entries from the pitches. A panel of Logitech stakeholders and domain experts then judged the built apps and picked the six finalists. At the final, judges chose one winner per topic, scoring projects on equally weighted criteria. A practical tip: treat the one-minute pitch as the make-or-break step, since only 50 entries moved on.
About Logitech
Logitech Europe SA is the European arm of Logitech, the maker of computer peripherals. The challenge ran from its headquarters at EPFL in Lausanne.
Things to check before you apply
- Closed now: nothing can be submitted for 2026.
- Travel: a winning team needs a member who can travel to Switzerland; Indian passport holders should check Schengen visa timing early.
- Hardware: the XR topic needed a Meta Quest and the MX Ink stylus, and the shortlist voucher helped with devices.
- Prize tax: check the tax treatment of foreign prize money with an adviser.
