About this competition
The 2026 MassChallenge Switzerland accelerator is closed. Applications ran from 14 January to 4 March 2026. The official page lists no 2027 call for this accelerator yet; it does list two separate 2027 challenges for later-stage startups and scaleups, one matching Materials Science and one matching Agtech and Foodtech startups with corporate partners, both with applications closing on 25 November 2026. The next accelerator round is not announced.
MassChallenge Switzerland runs a four-month, zero-equity accelerator for early-stage startups from anywhere in the world. It is part of MassChallenge, the global non-profit accelerator network. Selected teams must be in Switzerland in person twice, for the Bootcamp and Halftime events, about two to three weeks in total. This guide explains the programme so an Indian startup can prepare for the next round.
What the programme offers
MassChallenge takes no equity and charges no fees. Startups get access to more than 15 global corporate partners (including Bühler, Givaudan, dsm-firmenich, Louis Dreyfus Company, SIG Group, Mars, Novonesis and PMI), mentoring from 400+ experts, and a curriculum of lectures and workshops. There are two immersive in-person boot camps with mentor matching and an "On Tour" experience visiting partners across Switzerland. The page also offers Switzerland-specific advice on regulations and tax and easy access to the EU market.
Startups compete for equity-free cash prizes and in-kind awards. The programme page says startups have the opportunity to compete for "up to CHF 1M" in non-dilutive cash prizes and other in-kind awards, and it does not break that figure down or say what it covers. The figure that applies to this accelerator's 2026 results comes from MassChallenge's awards announcement of 30 October 2026: ten winning startups shared CHF 250,000 in equity-free cash prizes (one Diamond winner at CHF 100,000, two Platinum winners at CHF 40,000 each and seven Gold winners at CHF 10,000 each). The same announcement lists other prizes separately, including the One Young World Award of CHF 10,000 and the LDC Impact Prize 2026 (CHF 50,000 each to two startups), and 18 in-kind awards of advisory services. Do not read the CHF 1M as a guaranteed pool or as the 2026 total for this accelerator.
Who can apply
Startups from any geography and any industry. You do not need to be incorporated, in Switzerland or anywhere else. You should have raised less than CHF 2M and have less than CHF 2M in sales. The page asks for three things: an impactful product with potential for economic and societal change, a viable concept with traction and a financially sustainable model, and a scalable concept with market-competitive pricing. The programme only accepts startups whose solution adds value to society, and expects them to plan to offset or reduce their emissions.
For Indian startups: this is open to you, and the main cost is travel and stay in Switzerland, which you pay for yourself. It suits an early-stage team with real users and a clear impact story. It does not suit a pre-product idea or a scaleup with large revenues.
Optional tracks
You may select a track in the form, but you do not need to match one. The tracks are Agtech & Foodtech, Materials & Industry, Healthtech, and AI, Autonomy & Cybersecurity, which is run from the UK hub.
How to apply
Fill in the accelerator application form while it is open, choose a track if one fits, and describe your impact, traction and scalability. A practical tip: lead with user evidence, since viability means showing traction.
How applications are judged and what happens next
Independent expert judges review applications and select the cohort. During the programme, judges assess the startups again and winners are announced at an awards ceremony. The page cites a judging process with online form review and online pitch panels.
About MassChallenge Switzerland
Since 2016 it has accelerated 1,369 startups that have raised more than US$4.2 billion in follow-on funding, according to the page.
Things to check before you apply
- Closed now: the 2026 form cannot be submitted.
- Travel: budget for two trips to Switzerland and visa timing.
- Time: the rest of the programme is online; the page says to expect 2 to 10 hours a week outside the boot camps, depending on the lecture and workshop topics.
- Prize money abroad: check tax treatment of foreign prizes with an adviser.

No. The 2026 accelerator form was open from 14 January to 4 March 2026. The page shows no 2027 accelerator call yet, so watch it for news.
Can an Indian startup apply to MassChallenge Switzerland?
Yes. Startups can be from any geography and do not need to be incorporated in Switzerland or anywhere else.
Does MassChallenge take equity?
No. The programme is zero-equity and the page says no equity is taken in return for mentoring and programming.
Is the programme free?
There are no fees, but you pay your own travel and accommodation for the in-person events.
Do I have to come to Switzerland?
Yes, twice, for the Bootcamp and Halftime events, for about two to three weeks in total. The rest of the programme is online.
What can I win?
In 2026, MassChallenge's awards announcement of 30 October 2026 says ten winning startups shared CHF 250,000 in equity-free cash prizes from this accelerator, and that other cash and in-kind awards were given separately. The programme page itself says startups can compete for up to CHF 1M in non-dilutive cash prizes and in-kind awards, without a breakdown, so do not count on that figure.
What stage of startup is it for?
Early-stage startups with less than CHF 2M raised and less than CHF 2M in sales, with traction and a financially sustainable model.
Do I need to pick a track?
No. Startups from any industry can apply. The tracks are Agtech & Foodtech, Materials & Industry, Healthtech and AI, Autonomy & Cybersecurity.
How long is the programme?
Four months. Two in-person boot camps with partner visits are combined with online lectures, workshops and mentoring.
Who are the corporate partners?
The page names Bühler, Givaudan, dsm-firmenich, Louis Dreyfus Company, SIG Group, Mars, Novonesis and PMI, among 15+ partners.
