About Shivalik College of Engineering
The Centre of Business Incubation and Innovations (CBII) is the startup incubator of Shivalik University in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Shivalik University launched CBII in 2022 to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs. Its vision is to cultivate an environment for young entrepreneurs that emphasises innovation, sustainability and social relevance.
CBII is recognised and registered with MSME, Government of India. The university also tied up with iHUB DivyaSampark, IIT Roorkee in 2022 and launched iHUB Shivalik, which the centre describes as a Spoke of iHUB DivyaSampark.
How the programmes work
CBII runs several incubation programmes of different lengths. The Pre-Incubation Bootcamp is a four-week launchpad for student entrepreneurs to validate ideas and build prototypes. The Summer Startup Sprint is an eight-week programme for building minimum viable products, and it ends with a Demo Day with investors. The Women Entrepreneurship Program runs for twelve weeks for women founders. The Deep Tech Accelerator is a sixteen-week programme for startups working on AI, IoT, Blockchain and other deep technologies. The Social Impact Incubator runs for six months for ventures that address social and environmental challenges. The Corporate Innovation Program is a custom bridge between startups and corporate innovation needs.
How to apply
All programmes begin with the same process. Founders submit their startup or business idea through the online application form. CBII then runs a preliminary online review, a detailed online evaluation of the proposal, and an offline pitch before an expert panel. Selected startups meet the mentors and incubation team in person to finalise an incubation agreement, and then begin onboarding.
