What You Get
The Uttarakhand Tourism Entrepreneur Promotion Scheme offers a comprehensive suite of financial benefits designed to significantly reduce the financial burden on entrepreneurs investing in the state's tourism sector.
- Capital Grant/Assistance: A substantial financial grant is provided based on the permissible capital investment for establishing new or expanding existing eligible tourism units. The grant amount is tiered by district category to incentivize investment in less developed areas. For Category A districts, the maximum grant is ₹80 lakh; for Category B districts, it extends up to ₹1.2 crore; and for Category C districts, the maximum grant can reach ₹1.5 crore. This grant supports investments in critical infrastructure such as buildings, plant, machinery, equipment, and auxiliary facilities.
- Stamp Duty Reimbursement: Eligible tourism units can receive 100% reimbursement on the stamp duty paid for sale/lease deeds of land or built-up areas, as well as on loan agreements, mortgages, and pledges executed during the scheme's validity period. This reimbursement is provided in a lump sum upon the commencement of commercial operations, significantly lowering initial setup costs.
- Interest Subsidy Reimbursement: A 3% interest subsidy is provided on term loans taken from approved financial institutions. This subsidy is capped annually, with a maximum of ₹4 lakh per year for Category A districts, ₹5 lakh per year for Category B districts, and ₹6 lakh per year for Category C districts. The subsidy is payable for a maximum of three years from the date of commercial operation commencement, directly reducing the cost of borrowing for eligible projects. These combined benefits aim to create a highly attractive financial ecosystem for tourism entrepreneurs in Uttarakhand.

Selection Process
The selection process for the Uttarakhand Tourism Entrepreneur Promotion Scheme involves a multi-stage verification and approval mechanism. Once an application is submitted through the Invest Uttarakhand Single Window Portal, it undergoes a thorough review by various governmental authorities. This typically includes scrutiny by the District Tourism Development Officer, a Nodal Officer at the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), and a State Level Authorised Committee. These bodies are responsible for verifying the accuracy of the submitted details, ensuring compliance with all eligibility criteria, and assessing the project's alignment with the scheme's objectives. Additionally, physical site inspections may be conducted to validate the proposed or existing tourism unit's infrastructure, location, and operational readiness. The final approval is granted based on these comprehensive evaluations, leading to the issuance of digitally signed certificates or licenses for the benefits.
