About this competition
Online entry, live final in Türkiye: the final ran 30 September to 4 October 2026 at Şanlıurfa Airport, so finalist teams must be present in person. The page does not say who pays for travel or accommodation for finalists coming from abroad.
The TEKNOFEST Agricultural Technologies Competition asks teams to build sustainable, technology-based solutions for farming, and it is one of the few TEKNOFEST contests open to startups and private companies as well as students. Prizes reach ₺100,000 (about ₹2.3 lakh). The 2026 round closed on 15 March 2026 and no 2027 dates appear on the pages we read.
What the program offers
The High School level pays ₺90,000, ₺80,000 and ₺70,000 for first to third (about ₹2.07 lakh, ₹1.84 lakh and ₹1.61 lakh). The University and Above level pays ₺100,000, ₺90,000 and ₺80,000 (about ₹2.3 lakh, ₹2.07 lakh and ₹1.84 lakh). The page describes the contest as expecting projects that improve agricultural processes and give sustainable, innovative and environmentally friendly solutions through technology integration. University-level finalists can join the TEKNOFEST Startup Programme, which the page says includes entrepreneurship training and investor meetings. Conversions use about ₹2.3 per Turkish lira, which is approximate because the lira's value keeps changing.
Who can apply
The page opens the contest to high school students (including open education), university students at every level, graduates, startups and private sector entities, "studying in Türkiye and abroad". The page names no nationality limit, so applicants based in India are not excluded by its wording. It suits agri-tech student teams and early startups with a prototype. The page does not state a team size, so check the specification.
How to apply
Applications were made on the TEKNOFEST online platform (t3kys.com): create a profile, form a team (individual applications are not accepted), and complete the application form. The deadline was 15 March 2026. The stages that followed were a Project Preliminary Evaluation Form, a Project Presentation (semi-final) and a prototype and final presentation. Report templates and the specification sit on the competition page.
How applications are judged and what happens next
The 2026 calendar: preliminary evaluation form due 31 March, screening results 13 to 20 May, project presentation due 1 July, semi-final presentations 8 to 20 July, finalists announced 5 August, and the final from 30 September to 4 October at Şanlıurfa Airport. The scoring criteria are in the specification, not in the page text we read.
About TEKNOFEST
TEKNOFEST is a Türkiye aerospace and technology festival whose technology competitions are run through the TEKNOFEST site and its online platform. Competition pages describe a TEKNOFEST Startup Programme for university-level finalists, with entrepreneurship training and investor meetings, and digital certificates issued under the Ministry of Industry and Technology. A support programme led by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation offers finalists guidance for international competitions, equipment and workshop support, and transportation or accommodation help for those international trips. The pages we read do not describe the organisers' legal structure in more detail, so check teknofest.org for the latest.
Things to check before you apply
- The final is live in Türkiye and the page does not say who pays travel and accommodation for foreign finalists. The "transportation/accommodation assistance" on the page belongs to a support programme for international competitions, so do not assume it covers your trip.
- Prizes are in Turkish lira and the rupee figures are approximate.
- The round has closed; no 2027 dates are published on the pages we read.
- The page does not say whether a Turkish company is needed for startups; it says startups and private sector entities studying or based in Türkiye and abroad may enter, so confirm with the organisers.
- A practical tip: join the competition's public email group early, since unanswered rules questions are handled there.
