About the Competition
AlgoOlympia 1.0 is a premier national ideation and algorithmic design hackathon hosted by the School of CSE, Nalanda Chandigarh University. Unlike traditional competitive programming, this competition focuses on System Architecture, Algorithmic Logic, and Feasibility across three core tracks: Healthcare, Women's Safety, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants are challenged to architect innovative, high-impact algorithmic solutions addressing critical global and societal issues.
Who Should Apply
Open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and corporate tech enthusiasts who love solving structural problems with logical algorithms. Teams of exactly 3 members are required.
Tracks & Problem Domains
- Track 1: Algorithms in Healthcare – Dynamic Resource & Patient Scheduling (matching emergency patients to specialized staff using graph theory or network flow) and Genomic Sequence Mapping (fast string alignment algorithms for pathogen mutation identification).
- Track 2: Algorithms in Women's Safety – Multi-Criteria Safe Navigation (routing algorithms prioritizing safety factors like lighting, crowds, police presence) and Decentralized SOS Mesh Networks (topological and graph-based routing protocols for peer-to-peer distress signaling).
- Track 3: Algorithms in SDG Goals – Smart Grid Renewable Allocation (optimization models for distributing solar/wind energy) and E-Waste Logistics Optimization (modified TSP frameworks for autonomous recycling vehicles).
Format & Timeline
- Round 1 (Online): Teams submit a comprehensive proposal detailing their chosen problem, proposed algorithmic logic, data structures, computational complexity analysis, and system workflow.
- Round 2 (Grand Finale – Offline): Shortlisted teams present their structural models, workflow designs, and algorithmic frameworks before a panel of industry experts. Evaluation is based on mathematical rigor, optimization capabilities, and real-world viability.

Total prize pool of ₹1,06,600:
- Winner: ₹50,000
- First Runner-Up: ₹30,000
- Second Runner-Up: ₹20,000
- Consolidation Awards: ₹6,600 pool
