About this competition
AlgoVerse 2026 is a hybrid Algorand hackathon organised by Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune, in collaboration with the AlgoBharat team. The competition focuses on Agentic Payments (x402) — a new paradigm for pay-per-use AI and compute services on the Algorand blockchain. Participants will build working x402 endpoints, demonstrate complete payment flows, and pitch real-world business models.
Who Should Apply Open to all students across India, from any college, specialization, or department. Inter-college and inter-department teams are welcome. Whether you are a blockchain developer, a web3 enthusiast, or a product-minded builder, this hackathon is designed for you.
Tracks / Themes Seven problem statements are offered under the Agentic Payments (x402) theme:

Teams choose one problem statement to build their project around.
Format & Timeline The hackathon runs in three phases:
- Phase 1 (23rd July – 12th August): Registrations open.
- Phase 2 (23rd July – 10th August): Idea submission, finalist shortlisting, mentor support, and an Algo Guide progress review session.
- Phase 3 – Final Round (12th August, on-campus): A 12-hour hacking day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ending in live demos and judging. A mandatory pre-hackathon onboarding workshop will cover Algorand fundamentals, AlgoKit setup, and the x402 architecture.
Judging criteria: Technical implementation, innovation, real-world impact, completeness/functionality, presentation quality, and alignment with the x402 Agentic Payments theme. Final evaluation and winner selection will be jointly decided by faculty judges and the AlgoBharat team representative.

- 1st Place: $200
- 2nd Place: $120
- 3rd Place: $80 Total Prize Pool: $500 (approx. ₹46,000 INR).
Eligibility Open to all students across India. Team size: 1 to 4 members. Inter-college and inter-department teams are permitted. Registration is initially free; if selected for the final round, a fee of ₹300 per team is required.
About the Organiser Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune, is a well-known engineering institution in Maharashtra. The hackathon is supported by the AlgoBharat team, the Indian community arm of the Algorand Foundation, which promotes blockchain education and development in India.

What You Get
Top teams win cash prizes from a $500 total pool (approx ₹46,000): $200 for 1st place, $120 for 2nd, and $80 for 3rd. Beyond the prize money, shortlisted teams get mentor support and an Algo Guide progress review session during Phase 2, plus a mandatory pre-hackathon onboarding workshop covering Algorand fundamentals, AlgoKit setup, and the x402 architecture. Selected finalists then build and demo on campus during the 12-hour hacking round, with winners chosen jointly by faculty judges and an AlgoBharat team representative.
