About this subsidy
Clause 14.2 of the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019 offers eligible units a capital subsidy of 50% on the cost of a generating set, subject to a limit of Rs 20 lakh.
The subsidy covers the cost of the generating set, the taxes on it and its transportation — nothing else. To qualify, the capacity of the DG set must be equivalent to the power sanctioned to the unit by the competent authority, so an oversized set will not be funded on its full cost.
