Quick Answer
Assam reimburses Rs 2 per unit of APDCL electricity consumed for five years, up to Rs 50 lakh a year.
About this subsidy
Clause 14.1(i) of the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019 gives manufacturing and specified-services units a power subsidy of Rs 2.00 per unit of electricity consumed, for five years from the date of commercial production.
The subsidy is capped at Rs 50 lakh per annum, and the cumulative benefit cannot exceed 100% of the total investment made in plant and machinery — whichever limit binds first.
Only consumption on an APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd) electricity connection qualifies. Power drawn through open access, captive generation or any other source is expressly excluded.

What You Get
You get Rs 2.00 back for every unit of electricity your unit consumes on its APDCL connection, for five years starting from the date of commercial production. The annual payout is capped at Rs 50 lakh, and the running total cannot exceed 100% of what you invested in plant and machinery — whichever is lower applies. For an energy-intensive plant this materially cuts the per-unit cost of production during the ramp-up years. Power taken through open access or your own captive generation earns nothing under this clause.
