Quick Answer
Textile and leather units in Bihar pay no land conversion fee when converting agricultural land for industrial use.
About this subsidy
Under the Bihar Textile & Leather Policy, 2022 (incentive 9), all textile and leather units in Category A and Category B receive a 100% exemption on the land conversion fees payable when agricultural land is converted for industrial use.
This removes one of the upfront statutory costs of setting up a plant on agricultural land in Bihar. The exemption is granted as a waiver rather than a cash payout, so no rupee amount is fixed — the saving equals the conversion fee that would otherwise apply to the parcel. It is administered by the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar under the policy's standard application process.
