About this grant
The Comprehensive and Holistic Advancement of National Knowledge Yield and Analytics (CHANAKYA) PG fellowships aim to identify and support innovative ideas in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) by postgraduate students. The program seeks solutions with the potential to address compelling problems faced by various sectors including industries, PSUs, government organizations, healthcare, and society, specifically within the realm of digital healthcare. Ideas demonstrating high potential for patenting, licensing, and commercialization are particularly encouraged.
The specific application verticals and focus areas include Cyber-Physical Systems in Digital Healthcare & HealthTech, Medical Devices (such as wearable devices, test beds, hardware in loop systems, and Point of Care Devices), AI/ML implementation in Digital Healthcare, Early-Stage Diagnostics, Healthcare Analytics, and other related deep-tech healthcare applications. Successful fellows receive a monthly stipend and comprehensive IPR filing support. Promising ideas are also considered for further startup development and incubation through the IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation. The fellowship emphasizes the development of innovative solutions that exhibit strong technical and practical feasibility, coupled with clear relevance to cyber-physical systems.

Timelines & Process
Selection Process
All applications are competitively evaluated based on several criteria including originality, technical and practical feasibility of the proposed solutions, and the effective integration of cyber-physical systems. Key evaluation factors comprise the potential for patenting, relevance to end-user applications, clarity and technical depth of the proposal, overall feasibility, and the cost-effectiveness of the solution. Projects demonstrating a strong potential to reach a conclusive outcome by the end of the fellowship tenure will be given higher preference. The evaluation is conducted by a panel of various experts, and the decision made by the IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation is considered final. Selected fellows will undergo bi-monthly interactions with academic, healthcare, and industry personnel, and continued support is contingent on satisfactory performance, with the fellowship subject to termination if performance is deemed unsatisfactory.
