Caseception — Uncover the Layers. Solve the Depths. is an online case competition organised by Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT), Pune, as part of AUDACIA 2026, the institute's 11th Integrity & Ethics Conclave. The competition is built around the idea that every business challenge has multiple layers, and the real skill lies in uncovering what others might overlook. It challenges participants' analytical thinking, business awareness, problem-solving abilities, and strategic decision-making.
Who Should Apply The competition is open to all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students, irrespective of academic discipline. Students from management, engineering, commerce, arts, science, law, medicine, and other streams are all welcome. Cross-college and cross-stream teams are explicitly permitted, so participants can build teams across institutions and fields. The organisers frame the competition as relevant to anyone aspiring to become an entrepreneur, consultant, lawyer, doctor, engineer, or policy-maker — anyone who wants to step into the shoes of real-world decision-makers.
Format & Timeline The competition runs entirely online on Unstop across two rounds. Round 1 is a timed MCQ quiz of 20 questions in 15 minutes, covering CEOs and corporate leadership, Indian startups, the stock market, mergers and acquisitions, economics, and corporate history. The top 20 teams from Round 1 qualify for the final round. Round 1 is scheduled for 21 November 2026 (Saturday).
In Round 2, qualifying teams analyse and solve a case under one of three tracks: a Sustainable Development Case (responsible, sustainable, impactful solutions), a Business Problem-Solving Case (practical, strategic, innovative solutions), or a Consulting Case (structured problem-solving and analytical frameworks). Each team prepares a 3-slide presentation (excluding an optional cover slide) and presents online before a panel of judges, followed by a Q&A. Presentations run 5 minutes per team with 3 minutes of judges' Q&A. The final round is tentatively scheduled between 23–25 November 2026, with confirmed dates and joining instructions sent to qualified teams.
Judging Criteria Final-round teams are evaluated on structure and problem-solving approach, depth of analysis and insights, feasibility and impact of the proposed solution, presentation and communication, and Q&A handling.
Prizes 1st place receives ₹2,500 and an e-certificate; 2nd place receives ₹1,500 and an e-certificate; 3rd place receives ₹1,000 and an e-certificate. Participation e-certificates are awarded to all participants. Prize disbursement requires submission of Aadhaar card, PAN card, and cancelled cheque or passbook page for verification.
Eligibility Open to all UG and PG students of any discipline. Teams of 3 to 4 members; cross-college and cross-stream teams allowed. Team composition must remain unchanged after Round 1.
Submission Guidelines The final presentation must contain exactly 3 slides (excluding an optional cover slide), submitted in PPT, PPTX, or PDF format through Unstop before the deadline, named TeamName_Caseception with the appropriate extension. Each team may submit only one entry under one case track, and all submissions must be original with sources cited. Finalists must present the same deck submitted before the deadline and need a stable internet connection with working camera and microphone.
