DATASPHERE 2026: Hackathon is an offline competition organized by Brainiacs – The Data Science Society in association with the Department of Statistics, Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. This hackathon challenges participants to innovate at the intersection of AI and IoT, focusing on creating smart industrial ecosystems. It's an opportunity for students to apply their skills to real-world problems and develop solutions for a sustainable economy.
Who Should Apply
The hackathon is open to teams of 2 to 4 members, primarily targeting students. While a core theme is provided, participants are encouraged to submit all types of projects, demonstrating a broad scope for innovation.
Tracks & Themes
The central theme for DATASPHERE 2026 is 'AI & IoT for Smart Industrial Ecosystems: Optimizing Energy, Resources, and Waste for a Sustainable Economy'. Participants are challenged to develop solutions that monitor energy, machines, and waste using IoT, apply AI/ML for prediction, efficiency, and anomaly detection, manage waste, build KPI dashboards, and enable automation for predictive maintenance and load balancing. The goal is to drive cost and energy efficiency, sustainable waste management, and reduced carbon footprint. While this theme provides a strong direction, projects outside this theme are also accepted.
Format & Timeline
The hackathon culminates in an offline final presentation on April 18th, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. The competition features a multi-round structure:
- Round 1: Abstract Submission – Deadline: April 17th, 11:59 AM
- Round 2: Technical Proposal – Deadline: April 17th, 11:59 PM
- Round 3: Final Presentation – April 18th (Offline)
Prizes
A total cash prize pool of ₹4,500 is available for the top three teams, along with certificates for all winners.

Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members. The competition is primarily aimed at students.
