What it is Matcha with Macha #001 is a small, curated Sunday-morning gathering in Cubbon Park, Bengaluru, designed to help 18–25 year olds meet new people the way friendships used to form - through play, conversation, and shared time rather than networking formalities. It is explicitly positioned as "not networking": no speakers, no panels, no business cards, no elevator pitches.
Who it's for The event is open to 18–25 year olds in Bangalore - students, designers, builders, artists, founders, musicians, engineers, creators, people with conventional jobs, people with unusual jobs, and those still figuring things out. Selection is not based on LinkedIn credentials; the organisers aim to assemble a genuinely varied mix of people who would probably not otherwise cross paths. Entry is curated, and applying does not guarantee a spot.
What to expect
Format and ground rules Attendees are encouraged to come alone. You may apply with friends, but each person must apply individually, and the organisers will likely separate groups during parts of the morning - the entire point being to meet people you don't already know. The exact meeting point is shared only with accepted attendees.
Logistics
A note on the name Despite the title, there is no matcha - only filter coffee. The organisers acknowledge the false advertising with good humour. The tagline says it best: "Come alone. Leave with machas."
