Robo War is a competitive robotics combat challenge held as part of TechTrix'26, organised by the Navrachna Foundation For Entrepreneurship Development. It is a build-and-battle event where teams bring a ready-to-compete, battery-powered, wirelessly controlled robot engineered for arena combat, and pit it against opponents in a one-on-one duel.

What it is Teams must combine kinetic energy, robust armour, and driving strategy to immobilise or outlast their opponents. The event tests engineering, control, durability, strategy, and combat capability under match conditions.

Who it's for Open to all participants, with a mandatory team size of three. A valid institutional or college ID is required. Only registered participants may compete, and no participant may join two teams in the same event. The registered team captain is the official point of contact, and team composition cannot be changed after the registration deadline without written approval from the Event Coordinator.

Robot specifications

Maximum dimensions: 500 x 500 x 500 mm (L x B x H), including attachments, armour, and resting weapons
Maximum weight: 60 kg, including batteries, armour, and transmitters
Maximum operating voltage: 6S LiPo, 24V DC (fully charged)
Control: dual-frequency wireless remote control; pre-built or custom transmitter/receiver pairs permitted
Power: onboard battery only, with no external power sources and no battery swaps during a match

Permitted and prohibited systems Permitted weapon systems include cutters, saws, flippers, lifting devices, spinning hammers, and kinetic drums. Spinning weapons must stop completely within 60 seconds of power removal, and spring-loaded or flywheel mechanisms must never be loaded outside the arena and must auto-revert to a safe, uncocked position if radio contact or power is lost. Strictly prohibited: flamethrowers and fire-based weapons, liquid projectiles, foam, liquefied gases, flammable liquids, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, magnetic devices, electrical shock weapons, EMPs, RF-jamming devices, entangling devices, explosives, and pyrotechnics.

Inspection and safety Teams must report at least 30 minutes before the official start time. Battery terminals must be heavily protected against short circuits, punctures, and fire hazards; inadequate armour results in immediate disqualification. Every robot undergoes a strict technical and safety inspection covering dimensions, weight, voltage, battery, control, and safety, and weapon systems must be demonstrated to the technical panel before the match.

Match format and judging Matches are 1v1, with the arena potentially hosting 2-4 robots depending on registrations. A full match consists of two rounds of five minutes each. Arena layout, floor material, and boundaries are revealed only at the venue. A robot ejected from the arena is eliminated from that round. A robot unable to move at least one inch within 20 seconds is declared immobile and loses. Continuous pinning or lifting must not exceed 20 seconds. If multiple robots survive a full round, judges award points: +1 for sustained pinning, +1 for a successful flip or lift, and +2 for significant damage.

Prizes and fees Registration is ₹600 per team and is non-refundable. The total prize pool is ₹25,000: first prize ₹12,000 plus trophy and medal, second prize ₹8,000 plus trophy and medal, and third prize ₹5,000 plus trophy and medal. The registration deadline is 19 October 2026.
