The Agents' Bounty – AI Agent Build Challenge

The Agents' Bounty is a 3–4 hour individual AI Agent Build Challenge conducted as part of Zettaabyte 5.0, the flagship tech festival of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce (TRCAC) in Mumbai. This hands-on competition invites college students to pick a real-world problem statement and build a working AI agent within a tight timeframe, testing their coding skills, creativity, and ability to integrate AI into practical solutions.

Who It's For

This challenge is open to college students interested in AI, software development, problem-solving, and emerging technologies. Beginners are welcome, and prior experience with AI agents is not mandatory. Participants can use any programming language, AI model, API, framework, or development stack they are comfortable with.

Format: One-round, offline AI Agent Build Challenge

Problem Statements

There are 15 problem statements in total, divided into three difficulty levels:

Easy (5): Beginner-friendly AI agent challenges
Medium (5): Intermediate challenges involving more complex workflows and functionality
Hard (5): Advanced challenges requiring sophisticated reasoning, workflows, or integrations

Participants choose one bounty at the start of the event. The difficulty level is intended to help participants select a challenge suited to their skills and does not provide any additional scoring advantage.

Competition Rules

Participants must compete individually and may register only once.
Only one problem statement may be selected.
The core AI agent must be built during the event; pre-built complete solutions are prohibited.
Collaboration or sharing of solutions between participants is prohibited.
Any AI model, API, framework, or service may be used, including OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Hugging Face, Ollama, and others.
Internet access, documentation, libraries, and development resources are permitted.
Participants may build a web-based UI for their agent where required.
Malicious, harmful, or intentionally disruptive use of AI is strictly prohibited.
Violations may lead to immediate disqualification; organizers' and judges' decisions are final.

Judging Criteria

All participants are judged on a total score of 100, regardless of difficulty:

Functionality (25): How effectively and completely the agent solves the problem
AI Integration (25): How meaningfully AI is used within the solution
Innovation & Problem Solving (20): Creativity, originality, and quality of approach
UI/UX (15): Usability and clarity where a user interface is provided
Presentation & Demo (15): Clarity of explanation and effectiveness of the live demonstration

The top three participants with the highest scores win certificates.

Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts and Commerce (TRCAC) is a well-known educational institution in Mumbai, affiliated with the University of Mumbai.
