About this grant
The 2026 F5 Tech for Good Grants round is closed. Applications ran from 14 July to 3 August 2026, closing at 11:45 pm Pacific time, and applicants were due to hear in September 2026. The official page announces no next round, so watch F5's Global Good pages if you want to apply in future.
F5, a US application security and networking company, funds ten nonprofits that use technology to tackle climate challenges for vulnerable communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Asia includes Southern Asia, so Indian nonprofits were eligible. Each grant is a one-time award of US$50,000 (about ₹47.5 lakh).
What the program offers
Ten grant partners are selected, each receiving a one-time US$50,000 (about ₹47.5 lakh). The money must go to technology needs or technology-enabled solutions. Examples named by F5 include clean energy access, sustainable agriculture, climate-smart livelihoods, disaster resilience, water access, environmental education, early warning systems and community preparedness. It is not general running-cost funding; you need a specific technology purchase or build that you can justify.
Who can apply
You must be a legally registered charitable organisation, or fiscally sponsored by one, and have operated for at least three years. You also need a working website when you apply. The people you serve must mainly be vulnerable communities, especially people living in poverty, who are hit hardest by climate change. Organisations with written discriminatory policies are not eligible.
For an Indian applicant this means a registered trust, society or Section 8 company, or one hosted by such a body, with a three-year record and a technology need that ties directly to climate resilience. A for-profit startup would not qualify as a registered charity unless it works through a fiscal sponsor that is one.
How to apply
The application is a single online form, in English, and it cannot be saved and finished later, so draft your answers elsewhere first. The form has these parts:
- Organisation profile, including country of registration, years of operation, staff, people served and budget range
- Climate and community focus: the issue, who is affected and how many live in poverty
- Technology need and use of funds, including why technology is essential and how you assessed the need
- Impact and measurement, with projected numbers and one or two success stories
- Partnerships and sustainability, including risks and plans to scale over three to five years
- A set of eligibility confirmations and contact details
Answers can run to 4,000 words each. F5 recommends backing claims with numbers such as people or farms reached, emissions avoided, water access gained, income raised, adoption rates and long-term sustainability measures.
How applications are judged and what happens next
The page gives no formal scoring criteria. It signals that quantified evidence strengthens an application. Applicants were told the outcome in September 2026. Non-US organisations that are selected go through an Enhanced Expenditure Responsibility process run by CAF America, F5's international grantmaking partner; funding depends on completing it, and F5 pays the related fees.
