Quick Answer
Financial support scheme by DITC, Government of Goa, offering reimbursement for water and energy audits and capital costs for energy conservation equipment to manufacturing units.
About this subsidy
The “Incentives to Green Investment Scheme” was strategically launched by the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC), Government of Goa, to champion environmental sustainability within the state's industrial landscape. This forward-thinking scheme provides vital financial support to manufacturing units across all scales – Micro, Small, Medium, and Large – encouraging them to transition towards more eco-friendly operations. Its core objective is to incentivize the adoption of advanced, environmentally sound equipment and processes, alongside fostering the integration of new technologies and renewable energy solutions. By doing so, the scheme aims to significantly contribute to the conservation of Goa's precious natural resources. The program specifically offers financial relief through reimbursement for comprehensive Water and Energy Audits, as well as substantial Capital Reimbursement for the acquisition of Energy Conservation Equipment. This dual approach ensures that units are supported both in identifying inefficiencies and in implementing tangible solutions. Applications for this impactful scheme are diligently accepted offline through a structured process.

What You Get
The scheme offers two primary financial benefits to eligible manufacturing units:
- Water and Energy Audit Reimbursement: Up to ₹1,00,000 per unit, covering 25% of the total cost incurred on water and energy audits. This encourages units to proactively assess their consumption and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
- Energy Conservation Equipment Capital Reimbursement: Up to ₹10,00,000 per unit, covering 40% of the capital cost incurred on the purchase of certified energy-conserving equipment. This benefit can be availed multiple times by a single unit, subject to the maximum ceiling, and is additive to benefits from other State and Central Subsidy Schemes, provided the cumulative government support does not exceed 100% of the equipment's purchase value. These reimbursements directly support manufacturing units in Goa to adopt sustainable and efficient operational practices, thereby reducing environmental impact and operational costs.

This committee, which critically includes a representative from the Goa Energy Development Corporation, evaluates each submission against the scheme's objectives and eligibility criteria. Following this detailed assessment, the TFC provides its recommendation for the approval of benefits. Post-disbursement of incentives, successful applicants are required to maintain strict compliance with the scheme's terms. This includes granting free and unfettered access to any official authorized by the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce for periodic inspections and supervision of the unit, its registers, and discussions with employees. This measure ensures the proper utilization and accountability of the financial incentives and subsidies provided by the State Government.
