About this subsidy
Launched in 2008 by the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce, Government of Goa, the 'Interest Subsidy Scheme, 2008' aimed to significantly boost economic growth and industrial viability within the state. This initiative was designed to provide crucial financial incentives in the form of interest subsidies to new Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), thereby making their operational costs more manageable and fostering a conducive environment for industrial expansion. The scheme was a key component of the state's efforts to encourage entrepreneurship and reduce the financial burden on emerging businesses, contributing to overall economic development in Goa. It remained active until March 31, 2011, supporting eligible units that had commenced commercial production and were formally registered with the Directorate. The program was instrumental in lowering the financial barriers for nascent businesses in specific industrial categories, ensuring sustained growth and economic resilience across the region.
