Quick Answer
This Goa government scheme offers eligible Cold Chain Units a 100% reimbursement of electricity duty paid on High Tension connections, up to ₹5 lakh annually.
About this subsidy
The Goa State Logistics and Warehousing Incentives Scheme, launched by the Department of Industries, Government of Goa, aims to bolster the logistics and warehousing sector within the state. Recognizing the critical role of efficient logistics and cold chain infrastructure for economic growth, this scheme provides crucial financial support to units operating in this domain. Specifically, the "Subsidy on Electricity Duty" component addresses a significant operational cost for Cold Chain Units. These units are vital for preserving perishable goods, supporting agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and other key industries in Goa. By reimbursing 100% of the electricity duty paid on High Tension electricity connections, up to an annual ceiling of ₹5,00,000 per unit, the scheme seeks to enhance competitiveness and encourage investment in this essential infrastructure. The initiative is implemented by the Directorate Of Industries, Trade, And Commerce (DITC) and integrates with the Goa online single-window system for application processing, streamlining access to benefits for eligible businesses. This targeted subsidy is a strategic move to reduce operational burdens, promote sustainability, and foster an environment conducive to the growth of logistics and cold chain services, contributing to Goa's overall economic resilience and supply chain efficiency.

Selection Process
Upon receipt of an application, the Directorate Of Industries, Trade, And Commerce (DITC) will first raise queries for any shortfalls in the application form or documents. Once verified, DITC will designate an official to inspect the entity, verifying all records and documents against verification-cum-recommendation guidelines and a checklist (Annexure X). Inspection reports are uploaded within 48 hours and made available to the entrepreneur. After the Inspection Report, the application is forwarded to the Chief Executive Officer, Goa Investment Promotion And Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) for due diligence. Following Goa-IPB's recommendation, DITC prepares an appraisal note for the Incentive Review Committee. The Incentive Review Committee then convenes to scrutinize and sanction the claims. Post-recommendation from the committee, DITC prepares the approval note for the Accounts Department to disburse the incentives. All sanctioned claims are organized chronologically and disbursed following due procedure. Subsequent inspections are conducted once every 6 months after the first inspection, and annual reports are obtained and uploaded to the portal, with subsequent claims processed based on these reports without further physical inspection.
