Hydraulic Warzone is the hydraulic arm challenge of Addovedi 2026, the annual technical festival of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Arunachal Pradesh, organised by the Mechanical Engineering Student's Society (MESS). The event runs on campus from 28-30 October 2026 and is built around a single engineering premise: power, precision and control.
What it is
Teams of three design and build a manually controlled hydraulic arm using syringes and tubing, clear a testing round, and then complete a series of announced tasks inside the competition arena. All movement must be hydraulic and hand-operated - no motors, batteries, electronics or pneumatics are permitted.
Who it's for
Open to college students across all branches and specialisations, with inter-college and inter-specialisation teams explicitly allowed. Every participant must carry a valid student ID. Team size is fixed at exactly three members, one team per participant, with no cap on the number of teams entering.
Format and rounds
Kits and materials
Organiser-provided kits go to the first 8 teams that register and pay. Teams that miss the kit allocation can still compete using their own materials, provided the build rules are respected.

About the organiser
NIT Arunachal Pradesh is one of the northeastern Indian institutes of national importance, and Addovedi is its flagship annual technical and cultural festival. MESS, the Mechanical Engineering Student's Society, runs hands-on engineering contests of this kind to give students practical exposure to mechanical design, fluid power and competitive problem-solving - skills directly relevant to hardware, robotics and deeptech careers.
