RoboWars – 8 kg Combat Robotics is a combat robotics competition organised by Rotaract CRCE in collaboration with STUCO CRCE at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (Fr. CRCE), Bandra. Teams build and pilot their own combat robots and face off in an enclosed arena, testing engineering design, fabrication, driving skill, and durability under match pressure.
Who it's for Open to college students. Each team may have up to 5 members (minimum 2) and may register one combat robot. Every robot must carry a functional active weapon and clear the mandatory technical and safety inspection before it is allowed to fight.
Format The tournament opens with a league round, where each team competes in one match against a randomly assigned opponent. Both robots are scored independently across three categories - Damage (max 5 points), Control (max 3 points), and Aggression (max 2 points) - for a maximum of 10 points per judge. Qualification for the knockouts is decided on points earned, not wins or losses. The eight highest-scoring teams advance to the quarter-finals, followed by semi-finals and the grand final, where teams must win outright to progress.
