IEEEXtreme 20.0 is a global 24-hour online programming competition organised by IEEE. Student teams from around the world compete in real-time to solve a series of challenging coding problems, testing their algorithmic skills, teamwork, and endurance.
Who Should Apply
Open to IEEE student members and non-member students worldwide. Teams of up to 3 members. Individual participants can also join and be matched into teams.
Format & Timeline
The competition runs for 24 continuous hours on October 21, 2026. Teams solve a set of programming problems of varying difficulty. Scoring is based on the number of problems solved and the time taken. The competition is fully virtual, allowing participation from anywhere with a stable internet connection.
Prizes
Total prize pool valued at USD 10,000, distributed among top-ranking teams. Additional recognition and certificates for all participants who complete the competition.
Eligibility
Open to students enrolled in any degree program at a recognised institution. IEEE membership is encouraged but not mandatory for participation.
