What You Get
OpenAI Build Week is a competition, not an investment: it pays out a $100,000 cash prize pool to winning projects, with the 1st Place prize in the Apps for Your Life track at $15,000 in cash. That top prize also includes up to 2 Dev Day/Exchange passes (valued at $650 each) for the coming year, promotion by OpenAI Developers, and a meeting with the Codex Team. Participants can additionally request free Codex credits from OpenAI to build with, before the July 17 request deadline. Submissions must be a working project built with Codex using GPT-5.6, along with a demo video and code repository. All prize money is an outright cash award — no equity or repayment.
