Pixel Whisper - Design by Voice is a technical competition organised by Chennai Institute of Technology that tests programming, logical thinking, communication, teamwork, creativity, and UI/UX design skills. Teams of two solve an inverse coding challenge and then recreate a user interface through verbal communication alone.
Who Should Apply
Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognised colleges and universities in India. Students from any department or specialisation are eligible. Inter-college and cross-department teams are allowed.
Format & Timeline
The competition consists of two rounds, each 30 minutes long, for a total event duration of 60 minutes.
Round 1 – Inverse Coding Challenge: Teams receive the expected output of a program along with a problem statement. They must analyse the output and develop a program that produces the required result. Evaluation is based on correctness, logic, efficiency, and completion within the time limit. Only qualifying teams advance to Round 2.
Round 2 – Design by Voice: One participant (Designer) is shown a UI design. The other participant (Builder) must recreate the interface without seeing the original. The Designer may only communicate verbally and cannot touch the keyboard or mouse. The Builder recreates the interface based solely on verbal instructions. Evaluation is based on communication, teamwork, accuracy, and completion.
Prizes
Total prize pool of ₹5,000. Winner receives ₹3,000; Runner-Up receives ₹2,000.

Teams of exactly 2 participants. Open to college students from any recognised institution. Inter-college and cross-department teams allowed.
