About this subsidy
The "Assistance for Energy and Water Conservation" scheme is an initiative by the Industries and Commerce Department, Union Territory of Puducherry. Launched on April 1, 2017, and applicable across the entire UT, its primary goal is to promote energy and water efficiency among industrial units. The scheme encourages entrepreneurs to invest in sustainable practices by offsetting the costs associated with professional energy and water audits. It aims to motivate industries towards better resource management, contributing to environmental conservation and operational cost reduction. By offering fiscal assistance for such crucial audits, Puducherry seeks to foster a culture of efficiency and sustainability within its industrial sector, supporting both new and existing units in their growth and environmental responsibility efforts. This aligns with the broader objective of the "Motivation of Entrepreneurs to Start Industries and Fiscal Assistance to Industries - Various Incentives" program, providing targeted support for specific operational improvements.
