The subsidy applies to generators purchased on or after April 1, 2017. Disbursement can occur in single or multiple installments, subject to fund availability. For units financed by financial institutions/banks (including PIPDIC, other Government Corporations, and Scheduled/Co-operative Banks), the subsidy is adjusted against existing loans, or utilized for creating additional fixed assets or working capital. Self-financed units receive direct disbursement to the entrepreneur or unit. This critical financial support helps industrial units ensure uninterrupted operations and reduce reliance on grid power, thereby enhancing productivity and operational resilience.

Selection Process
Upon submission, applications are first rigorously scrutinized by the Directorate of Industries on a merit basis to ascertain eligibility and determine the quantum of admissible incentive or subsidy. The findings and recommendations from this initial scrutiny are then presented to the State Level Committee. This committee undertakes a comprehensive review of the merits of each individual case to ultimately decide whether the industrial unit qualifies for the grant of incentive/subsidy and to finalize the precise quantum of financial assistance admissible to the unit.
