About this subsidy
The "Subsidy for Quality Certification" scheme, launched by the Industries and Commerce Department of the Union Territory of Puducherry, aims to motivate entrepreneurs to enhance the quality of their products and processes. Effective from April 1, 2017, and operational throughout Puducherry, this initiative seeks to improve industrial competitiveness and foster a culture of quality assurance among local businesses. By providing financial assistance for obtaining crucial quality certifications, the government intends to reduce the financial burden on industries, thereby encouraging them to adopt international standards and best practices. This ultimately benefits consumers, enhances market access for local products, and strengthens the overall industrial ecosystem of Puducherry. The scheme supports a maximum of three quality certifications per unit, significantly contributing to the unit's operational excellence and market credibility. It is a vital component of the broader "Motivation of Entrepreneurs to Start Industries and Fiscal Assistance to Industries - Various incentives" program, reflecting Puducherry's commitment to industrial growth and entrepreneurship.
