About this subsidy
Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 gives eligible units 100% exemption from, or reimbursement of, stamp duty payable on the purchase or lease of land and building. Stamp duty is a percentage of the deed value and is paid before registration, so for a unit acquiring a plot or a shed it is a large cash outflow at the very start of the project. Where the duty has already been paid at registration, the policy route is reimbursement rather than an upfront waiver — so keep the stamped instrument and receipts for the claim.
