About this subsidy
Clause 12.8 C(12) of Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 shares the capital cost of environmental compliance equipment with the unit installing it. The state pays 50% of the capital cost, subject to a maximum of INR 25 lakh, for setting up an effluent treatment plant, installing water pollution control devices, or installing zero liquid discharge technology. It is claimable once during the validity period of the policy — for water-intensive units such as textiles, dyeing, electroplating and food processing this is the clause that makes a compliant discharge setup affordable.
