About this subsidy
Clause 12.8 D(14) of Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 reimburses 75% of the expenses an MSME incurs registering a patent. The ceiling is INR 10 lakh for a domestic patent and INR 20 lakh for an international patent, claimable once during the validity period of the policy. International filings — PCT national phase entries across several jurisdictions, with attorney and translation costs in each — are where the higher ceiling matters, since those routinely run past what a small manufacturer would otherwise spend on IP.
