About this subsidy
Clause 12.8 C(10) of Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 tops up the Government of India's Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) certification scheme. An MSME that obtains at least gold category status under ZED can claim back 50% of what it spent on plant and machinery or testing equipment for that certification, subject to a maximum of INR 5 lakh. The benefit is limited to the first 100 units during the validity period of the policy, so it rewards moving early rather than waiting.

It stacks on top of the central ZED scheme's own support, and is rationed: only the first 100 Punjab units to achieve at least gold category during the policy's validity period can claim it.
