Quick Answer
Large units in Punjab get 75% of net SGST on intra-state sales reimbursed for 7 years, capped at 100% of fixed capital investment.
About this subsidy
Clause 12.9 (1) of Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 turns a large unit's own tax collections into an investment subsidy. For 7 years from the date of commercial production, the State reimburses 75% of net SGST paid on intra-state sales, subject to an overall cap of 100% of Fixed Capital Investment (FCI). In practice this means a large manufacturer can recover an amount equal to its entire fixed capital outlay, provided its domestic sales generate enough SGST over the seven-year window. Because the subsidy scales with sales rather than being a fixed grant, it rewards units that actually reach capacity — and the FCI cap keeps the total bounded to what was genuinely invested in plant and building.

What You Get
The State reimburses 75% of the net SGST the unit pays on intra-state sales, for 7 years from the date of commercial production. The cumulative benefit is capped at 100% of Fixed Capital Investment, so the ceiling is set by what the unit actually put into land, building and plant. Payments are made as periodic reimbursements against filed GST returns rather than as a single upfront grant.
