Quick Answer
MSME and large units in Punjab's thrust sectors pay no stamp duty on the purchase or lease of land and building.
About this subsidy
Clause 12.9 of Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 removes stamp duty entirely for units setting up in the State's notified thrust sectors. Both MSME and large units get a 100% exemption from, or reimbursement of, stamp duty on the purchase or lease of land and building for the project. Stamp duty falls due at registration — before any revenue exists — so waiving it lowers the cash a promoter has to arrange at the hardest point in the project timeline, and it applies equally whether the unit buys its plot or takes it on lease.
