Crushing and screening plants are power-hungry, so electricity duty is a meaningful recurring line on an M-Sand unit's cost sheet. Removing it entirely for the first seven years of operation improves the unit's per-tonne economics from day one, and unlike a reimbursement it needs no cash outlay first — the duty simply is not charged.
The exemption is claimed under RIPS 2024 through Rajasthan's single-window investment portal, alongside the package's stamp duty, conversion charge, employment and tax concessions.
