ShowShift- Igniting Innovation in Entertainment Business Plans is a business plan case competition organised by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, as part of Venix 2026 — the institute's international business festival. The competition invites participants to pitch bold, innovative ideas for the entertainment sector, covering areas such as streaming platforms, live experiences, content production, and more.
Who Should Apply
Open to students and early-stage entrepreneurs interested in the entertainment business. Teams of 1 to 3 members are allowed. One person cannot be part of more than one team.
Format & Timeline
The competition has two rounds:
- Round 1 (Quiz): A quiz round to shortlist the top 15 teams.
- Round 2 (Business Plan Pitch): Shortlisted teams present their business plans offline before a panel of industry veterans.
The event runs from July 23 to August 7, 2026. The quiz round takes place early in the period, and the final pitch round is held offline (location to be announced by the organisers). Judging criteria include innovation, feasibility, market potential, and presentation quality.
Prizes
Total prize pool of ₹10,000, distributed among the winner and runner-ups. Additional prizes worth ₹10,000 are also mentioned, bringing the total prize value to ₹20,000. All participants receive certificates.
Eligibility
Open to all. Teams of 1–3 members. No geographic restriction — Indian and international participants can join. The quiz round is online; the final pitch round is offline (participants must be able to travel to the venue).
