About this competition
Smart School FinTech Innovation Challenge 2026
Build the Future of Education Through Technology
Technology has transformed industries worldwide, yet many educational institutions continue to face challenges such as fragmented software systems, manual administrative processes, disconnected communication, outdated financial workflows, and inefficient operations.
At PaperBuddy, we believe that the next generation of Software Engineers has the potential to solve these challenges by building innovative and impactful technology solutions.
The Smart School FinTech Innovation Challenge 2026 is a national-level software engineering hackathon where students, developers, designers, and innovators come together to create production-ready software that solves real-world problems.
This is more than just a hackathon—it's an opportunity to demonstrate your engineering skills, solve meaningful challenges, collaborate with talented minds across India, and compete for exciting rewards, including a Software Engineer Pre-Placement Offer (PPO).
Who Should Apply Open to students across India from any branch or academic year. Beginners and experienced developers are welcome. Teams of 1–4 members.
Challenge Statement Educational institutions generate enormous amounts of data every day, yet many schools still rely on disconnected software, paperwork, inefficient fee management systems, and outdated administrative workflows. Your challenge is to design and develop a production-ready software solution capable of solving real-world problems within Smart Schools, Education Technology, Financial Technology, or Digital Productivity.
Format & Timeline The hackathon runs online from July 1 to July 16, 2026. Teams must submit a project presentation (PPT), a working prototype, source code (GitHub), a demo video (3–5 minutes), and project documentation. A live demo URL is optional but recommended. Judging is based on innovation, problem-solving, technical excellence, architecture, code quality, UI/UX, scalability, business impact, and presentation.
