TECHNOVA is a technical innovation competition organised by Chennai Institute of Technology that challenges participants to demonstrate their technical knowledge, analytical thinking, creativity, and prompt engineering skills through exciting technology-based challenges. The event is designed to encourage innovation, improve problem-solving abilities, and promote the practical application of emerging technologies.

Who Should Apply Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognised colleges and universities. Students from all departments and specialisations are eligible. Inter-college and cross-departmental teams are allowed.

Format & Timeline The competition takes place on 22 July 2026 in two rounds:

Round 1 – Tech Rapid Fire (20 minutes): Participants answer rapid-fire technical questions covering AI, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Programming, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Networking, and General Technology Trends. The highest-scoring teams advance.
Round 2 – AI Image Generation Challenge (30 minutes): Qualified teams receive a surprise theme and must generate an original, visually compelling image using approved AI image-generation tools. Participants briefly explain their prompt, creative approach, and relevance to the theme.

Prizes Total Prize Pool: ₹3,000

First Prize – ₹1,500
Second Prize – ₹1,000
Third Prize – ₹500

Eligibility Only college students are eligible. Team size: 1–2 members. Inter-college and cross-departmental teams allowed.
