About this grant
The 2026 cycle of the TEEEM Foundation Community Impact Grant Program is closed: applications ran from 17 August to 1 November 2026, with awards announced on 20 November 2026. The foundation's page gives no dates for a next cycle, so watch teeem.org/foundation.
The programme funds nonprofit and charitable organisations that build sustainable, community-driven solutions through education, empowerment, innovation and service. Grants range from US$5,000 to US$30,000 (about ₹4.75 lakh to ₹28.5 lakh). The application accepts international NGOs and registered charities as well as US 501(c)(3) organisations, so an Indian NGO can apply; it is a worldwide programme, not an India-only one. It is for nonprofits, not for-profit startups.
What the programme offers
There are three sizes. Community Grants of US$5,000 to 10,000 (about ₹4.75 to 9.5 lakh) back local projects and grassroots initiatives. Growth Grants of US$10,000 to 20,000 (about ₹9.5 to 19 lakh) help expand programmes that already work. Transformational Grants of US$20,000 to 30,000 (about ₹19 to 28.5 lakh) are for large-scale initiatives with long-term potential. Requests outside these ranges may be considered, and awards can be funded in full or in part. This is grant money, not equity or a loan.
Who can apply
Applicants should be nonprofit or charitable organisations. The form lists US 501(c)(3)s, international NGOs and registered charities. Your work should fit one of TEEEM's funding areas: education and youth development; health and essential needs such as food security and community health; equality and empowerment, including women's empowerment; entrepreneurship and economic opportunity; community infrastructure; or sustainable community impact. TEEEM prefers solutions built with communities rather than imposed on them. It suits established grassroots NGOs with a track record and clear budgets. It is a poor fit for a for-profit company or an organisation with no registration papers. Indian recipients of foreign money should check FCRA, FEMA and tax treatment with an adviser before applying.
How to apply
Download the Community Impact Grant Application from the foundation page and complete it. Gather the attachments listed in the application, which include recent financial statements, your registration documents (the IRS determination letter or the equivalent for your country), a board list, an organisational budget and a project budget. An annual report, strategy plan and letters of support are optional. Combine the application and all materials into a single PDF and email it by the deadline. The application also asks whether you have a US bank account that can receive funds; if you do not, you explain how the grant would be received. A practical tip: make a single clean PDF with the form first and the attachments in the order the form lists them, because the whole submission travels as one file.
How applications are judged and what happens next
TEEEM reviews applications against mission alignment, organisational capacity, community need, sustainability and anticipated impact. It prefers measurable community impact, strong leadership and financial stewardship, community-centred solutions, youth development and innovative or entrepreneurial approaches. In the 2026 cycle the review finished on 13 November and awards were announced on 20 November 2026. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding.
About the TEEEM Foundation
TEEEM stands for The Empathy Equality Entrepreneurship Mission. It is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2018 and based in New Jersey. The foundation believes lasting change starts with local leaders who understand their communities' needs, and its values are empathy, equality, entrepreneurship, service and meaningful social impact.
Things to check before you apply next time
- Reporting. Funded organisations submit a mid-year progress report, a final impact report and financial updates, and may be asked for photos, stories or testimonials. They must also tell TEEEM about significant changes to the funded project.
- Receiving the money. Plan early how an Indian NGO would receive a US-dollar grant, since the form asks.
- Dates. The site's own text lists the deadline as 1 November while also calling the cycle closed; confirm the next window before you start work.
- Email delivery. Applications are emailed, and the page we read does not give the address, so use the one in the application form.
