webcmd Hackathon ⚡Agentic Payments Edition is a one-day, in-person hackathon hosted by webcmd (by Skill Engineers) in HSR Layout, Bengaluru. The focus is on building AI agents that can autonomously complete payment flows — from shopping carts to movie bookings, travel reservations, bill payments, and more. This is the third edition of the webcmd hackathon series, following the browsing and picking editions, and it tackles the hardest last mile: agents that actually pay.
Who Should Apply
Open to all builders — developers, fintech enthusiasts, e-commerce operators, and anyone curious about browser-based AI agents. No prior browser-automation experience is required; the event opens with a 30-minute Browser Agents 101 primer and a webcmd walkthrough to get everyone up to speed quickly.
Tracks / Themes
Participants can choose from five sub-theme lanes:
- E-commerce: agents that build carts, compare prices across marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, quick-commerce), and check out.
- Movie bookings: find shows, grab the best seats, pay, and deliver the ticket.
- Tickets and travel: events, buses, trains, flights — from search to confirmed booking.
- Bills and subscriptions: electricity, recharges, renewals, and recurring payments.
- Wildcard: any flow where an agent completing a payment makes life genuinely easier.
Format & Timeline
The hackathon runs on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST. The day begins with a 30-minute primer on browser agents and a webcmd walkthrough. Teams then build their agents, with the webcmd team available for support. Judging takes place at the end of the day, based on live demos or screen recordings of real runs. The judging criteria (100 points total) are: live reliability (30), usefulness (25), technical depth (20), creativity (15), and demo/storytelling (10). Two hard rules: demos must be live or recorded from a real run, and builds must use sandbox/test payment modes and respect platform terms.
Prizes
₹10,000 cash prize for the best build. No other prizes are mentioned.
Eligibility
Open to individuals or teams of up to 4 members. Participants can come solo and form teams on the spot. No prior browser-automation experience needed.
About the Organiser
webcmd is a self-learning browser infrastructure for AI agents. It allows agents to explore a site once, learn the navigation, and compile it into deterministic CLI commands — making checkout flows repeatable and up to 90% cheaper on tokens. The hackathon is hosted by Skill Engineers, the team behind webcmd.
How to Apply
Registration is via the Luma event page. Spots are limited. Participants should bring a laptop, API keys (if they have them), and a payment or booking flow they'd like to automate.
