The AVINYA AI Accelerator – Cohort 2 is an intensive 16-week program meticulously designed to propel early-stage Artificial Intelligence startups specifically based in Karnataka. This accelerator represents a significant collaborative effort by the ACSEL Technology Forum, in strategic partnership with the IT BT Department of the Government of Karnataka, and is further supported by the IIT Alumni Centre, Bengaluru (IITACB). The core strategic objective of this initiative is to actively identify promising AI ventures within the state and subsequently furnish them with the critical resources, expert guidance, and robust support systems that are indispensable for scaling their innovations and achieving sustained growth.
Funding for the participating startups is structured to provide both immediate catalytic support and substantial future growth potential. All eligible cohort members are provided with access to seed funding of up to ₹10 lakhs. This financial assistance is disbursed through a milestone-based approach, which is contingent upon rigorous due diligence processes and consistent positive progress reports from the startups. Beyond this crucial initial capital injection, top-performing startups within the cohort are presented with the opportunity to secure significant follow-on funding, potentially reaching up to ₹1 crore. This tiered funding mechanism is strategically engineered to mitigate early-stage development risks and to powerfully incentivize high achievement and innovation amongst the participants.
The accelerator provides an exceptionally robust and comprehensive ecosystem of support. Participating startups benefit immensely from invaluable mentorship offered by seasoned industry leaders and distinguished IIT alumni, who provide tailored guidance across a diverse array of business and technical domains. Furthermore, participants gain privileged access to a powerful and expansive network comprising experienced founders and potential investors, which significantly facilitates the formation of strategic partnerships and opens avenues for future investment opportunities. For startups that require a physical base of operations, optional co-working space access in Bengaluru is made available, contingent solely on space availability. The entire program culminates in a high-profile Demo Day, an essential platform where startups showcase their groundbreaking innovations to a curated audience of potential investors, with the explicit aim of securing further capital and forging crucial partnerships. Post-programme, graduates seamlessly transition into the exclusive ACSEL Alumni Network, thereby retaining access to ongoing investor connections and valuable resources, and are actively encouraged to mentor subsequent cohorts, fostering a vibrant, self-sustaining cycle of innovation and mutual support. This holistic support structure is meticulously crafted to ensure that participating startups are exceptionally well-equipped to adeptly navigate the inherent challenges of scaling an AI business and to make a profound, positive impact on the industry.
